Work. We all have to work. Everyone’s
job requires posture(s) that may trigger
pain at one time or another. Most Chiropractic Clinic sees the pain! Many Murfreesboro back pain and neck pain patients who seek chiropractic bring stories of work-related pain. We can help!
TREATING AND PREVENTING WORKPLACE MUSCULOSKELETAL PAIN
Most Chiropractic Clinic is confident in its skill
to alleviate and handle work-related musculoskeletal
pain for our Murfreesboro chiropractic patients. Not too surprisingly,
81.7% of office workers in one study had musculoskeletal pain
in at least one area. Back pain was the most often experienced
pain for 54.8%. Neck and shoulder pain followed. Curiously,
musculoskeletal system pain was found to be high in office
workers whose physical activity levels were reported as low. 58.5%
of these workers reported being “active” physically, 37.3% were less
active, 4.1% were very active. (1) Research shows that in-the-workplace
exercise interventions were effective in addressing
musculoskeletal disorders and in reducing pain for office workers.
(2) Most Chiropractic Clinic appreciates the optimism this brings
for our Murfreesboro back and neck pain patients!
WHAT EXERCISE INTERVENTIONS WORK?
Most Chiropractic Clinic manages work-related pain within the guidelines of The Cox® Technic System of Spinal Pain
Management which incorporates gentle spinal manipulation alongside exercise, nutrition and other recommendations. We appreciate researchers’
description of work-related musculoskeletal pain disorders as those painful issues
brought on by too little usage
of the musculoskeletal system during work.
Exercise, education, ergonomic direction, massage are pretty typical
ways of managing and trying
to prevent pain. Most recommendations like this were for workers
to do outside of the workplace. Recently, researchers proposed
the benefit of specific, individualized, resistance strengthening exercises
in the workplace to decrease pain, fatigue, and discomfort in worker’s
neck and upper extremities. (3) That
is a promising idea. Most Chiropractic Clinic sees the value in taking care of oneself at home as well as in the workplace!
